CMS helps residents to save pub and create "The Crown" jewel in their community
Cumbrian residents have rallied together in a bid to buy and re-open their much loved local as a community-owned pub.
A community share offer, launched today with support from the Co-operative Enterprise Hub, has set about raising the money needed to re-open the historic Cumbrian pub, The Crown Inn, Blencowe, near Penrith, which has been closed for the past twelve months.
The newly formed co-operative has been assisted by the Cumbrian-based Co-operative and Mutual Solutions – a lead delivery partner in the region for the Co-operative Enterprise Hub which supports the creation and growth of member-owned organisations UK-wide.
